Choosing without order

The number of ways to choose kk objects from nn, ignoring order, is (nk)=n!/(k!(n−k)!)\binom{n}{k} = n!/(k!(n-k)!).

Each selection of kk objects can be ordered in k!k! ways, so (nk)⋅k!\binom{n}{k}\cdot k! counts the ordered lists.
