An implication fails in one way

PPQQP⇒QP \Rightarrow QP∧¬QP \land \lnot Q

The negation of an implication is not another implication. It says PP holds and QQ fails: ¬(P⇒Q)≡P∧¬Q\lnot (P \Rightarrow Q) \equiv P \land \lnot Q.

This is how you write the negation of a claim, and how you describe a counterexample to “if …\ldots then …\ldots”.
